Senior Account Executive – Digital


We are looking for a Senior Account Executive to support the account team in all aspects of the daily running and servicing of client campaigns and to take ownership for accounts within the client portfolio.

You will have responsibility for the detail that delivers outstanding campaigns across various clients and manages client expectations, under the supervision of the senior team. You will also be responsible for the management and supervision of your direct report(s), working with them to deliver and progress in their role.

Description of responsibilities


Client service and support


  • Building and developing relationships with the client to encourage long term and repeat business
  • Demonstrating a knowledge of the clients’ business and sector to support daily communication internally and with the client
  • Offering suggestions for the development of the accounts and client business
  • Organising and preparing for client meetings, checking all required material is available and logistics are covered
  • Knowing the exact status of client work and following up on all detail to ensure everyone involved is kept informed of progress and any changes
  • Working to SLA’s and contracts with clients and within the agreements arranged
  • Responding efficiently to clients’ requests to resolve queries and finding solutions
  • Answering calls and handling and directing calls appropriately and effectively
  • Working closely with the Account Manager to deliver on time and on budget for every project

Processing and progressing work 

  • Daily and weekly WIP updates to manage capacity, workload and potential challenges
  • Ensuring the accurate and timely completion of job bags, job numbers and PO’s and invoicing
  • Working with the Account Manager to accurately estimate and ensure all relevant detail is included
  • Checking all work is successfully saved on the system for future referral
  • Proof reading material to present a professional and error free communication piece every time
  • Checking for the charging of additional work and extra amends where appropriate
  • Checking all jobs have been assigned PO’s
  • Contributing to the review of our processes to support continual progress.

Managing Accounts

  • Weekly updates of management accounts and keeping the AM informed
  • Charging for additional work and extra amends where appropriate
  • Demonstrating financial diligence and commerciality on all jobs, for quoting and billing whilst retaining value for money
  • Preferably daily, but always weekly, you keep your time sheets up to date and accurate, so we ensure we are delivering profitability
  • Completing an end of job analysis and summarising actual hours against quoted hours with supporting rationale.

People supervision/ management

  • Giving direction to direct reports by clearly defining and setting expectations
  • Reviewing individual performance to encourage improvement and potential
  • Managing issues professionally and using the appropriate processes
  • Setting and demonstrating positive examples and behaviours
  • Passing on skills and experience to help others to develop in their roles
  • Ensuring team members are aware of and adhering to all processes and systems
  • Communicating progress to encourage continuous business improvement
  • Utilising all available opportunities to personally develop in the role.
