Since we launched Bill Plant Driving School’s new ecommerce platform in 2024, customers have been able to purchase driving lessons online. To increase revenue, we wanted to enhance functionality and present users with a greater range of products.

BETTER INSIGHT

Considering 80% of traffic is via mobile devices, this new part of the checkout needed to be easily navigable. It couldn’t be time consuming for the user to digest the upsell package features, select and move on in the booking flow. A key goal was to make sure our solution limited friction and avoided decision fatigue.​

Whatever we built had to be scalable, to accommodate the ambitions of the brand and allow for more products in future.

BETTER IDEAS

We leveraged SupaBase as a central hub ensuring real-time, unified upsell purchase data – just like the main booking flow – whilst continuing seamless system integrations with Microsoft Dynamics and Stripe.

We also developed the ability for users to not only purchase via the main customer booking flow, but through a new area in the existing user’s accounts where they can easily tag an upsell package onto a top-up of hours.

Then came the introduction of SSO (Single-Sign On) and OTP (One-Time Password) functionality at the same time, to streamline the user log in process and support conversions. This ultimately benefitted the user, Bill Plant Driving School and the instructors onboarding users onto the app.

And finally, we improved the user experience on the Driving Instructor Training process, harnessing the same functionality built for upsells.
